These interface pads are for both mesh and traditional abrasives. By using an interface pad, you will get a softer sanding result for sanding curves. The interface pad is placed between the backing pad and the abrasive.

This type of interface pad allows the use of non-woven products on power tools. It provides great dust extraction and the mushroom shaped hooks makes the non-woven product stick well to the interface and prevents the fibers from getting stuck in the backing pad or pad saver. The interface removes the need to use velour on a non-woven product and thereby enables usage of Scotchbrite style discs such as Mirlon, as discs or sheets when doing tool-sanding.
