Colour and protect wooden floors without visible transitions, applying a single coat of the Oil Stain will create a transparent look showing the wood's natural grain, whilst an optional second coat can give a more intensive colour tone. A final coat of Osmo Polyx®-Oil is a must to protect pigmented finishes from wearing the colour. Oil Stain Hardener is an optional second component which can be used to harden the finish which reduces the drying and curing time to just 4 hours!
Osmo Oil Stain is the recommended oil stain for timber flooring. It is a transparent (one coat) or intensive (2 coats) finish, which requires a top coat of one of the Polyx Oils.
Oil stain is a professional product, as it must be applied with a scraper, brush or roller, then buffed with a single disc machine.
When using colour tone 3501 White, it is not recommended to have an intensive finish, as it is prone to yellowing. Similarly, when using colour tone 3519 Natural, it is recommended for light coloured timbers only, where the finished wood will look natural. Use on red or darker timbers such as eucalyptus saligna, rimu and jarrah etc will result in a chalky appearance.
Approx. coverage: 30-45m²/L with one coat - based on smooth, dressed timber surfaces. Coverage will be less on textures surfaces.
